2023 INSROA Elections

INSROA Members,

On behalf of our association, we would like to make you all aware that nominations for offices on the board are now officially open.  If you would like to review the INSROA Bylaws, they can be found on the INSROA Website.  If you have any trouble with this link- go to INSROA.org then hover over home and click on bylaws.

The elections this year will be for 1st Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.  In order to be considered nominated, please submit the following information to the association:

Your Name, Address, a short biography and a release from your agencies appropriate chain of command (your supervisor, chief, sheriff etc) stating that you have the support of your supervision to hold a position on our board.  All required information listed here may be forwarded to Immediate Past President Mike Johnson at mjohnson@insroa.org.  Nominations should be submitted no later than June 1st.

The election will be held on-line (after nominations close) if necessary and the results will be announced at the Annual Business meeting during this year’s conference in Indianapolis.  If there are no contested elections, the results will be announced shortly after nominations close. 

Below are the requirements to run for these offices:

1st Vice President Requirements-

The 1st Vice President shall:

  1. Have served two (2) years on the Executive Board immediately preceding his/her term as 1st Vice President;
  2. Be a member in good standing;
  3. Be at least a Professional Level SRO certified through the INSROA Accreditation Program;
  4. Have a demonstrated ability to adequately communicate through varied methods such as written statements, social media posts, electronic communications, radio  and television interviews both recorded or live, or other ways with INSROA members and the public;
  5. Be a certified full time law enforcement officer; and
  6. Be available to serve at the position for two(2) years, commencing at the INSROA annual meeting.

 

Secretary Requirements-

The Secretary shall:

  1. Have previously served as a Regional Representative or at least one (1) year experience on the Executive Board;
  2. Be a member in good standing;
  3. Be at least a Certified Level SRO through the INSROA Accreditation Program; and
  4. Be a certified full time law enforcement officer.

Treasurer Requirements-  

The Treasurer shall:

  1. Be a member in good standing;
  2. Be at least a Certified Level SRO through the INSROA Accreditation Program
